Attention Current Eudora Users
It is strongly recommended that
you make backup copies of your existing Eudora folders before you install this software.
Also, V3.0 includes many Address Book and Filters options
that were
not in previous versions of Eudora Pro or Eudora Light.
This means that if you go back to a previous version of the Eudora software
and use the information you have entered using the V3.0 trial software,
there are compatibility issues:
Macintosh
- If you created new Address Book files you will have to merge all of the
files into a single file before going back to a previous version of Eudora
(these files are stored in the Nicknames Folder within the Eudora Folder).
- If you entered information in any of the new Address Book fields
(Name, Postal address, Phone, and Fax), the information will be
automatically placed in the Notes field of the nickname.
- If you created Filters that used any new actions, you will need to
run the Filter converter to convert your Filters back to a format
that pre-3.0 versions of Eudora can use. See the Filter converter README
for more information.
|
Windows
- If you enter information in the new Address Book fields in 3.0, that
information will be placed in the Notes field when you use a previous
version.
- If you use the new Filter actions with 3.0, then go back to a
previous version, those new actions will be dropped.
- Text that was formatted in 3.0 will be displayed with the text/enriched code
in pre-3.0 versions.
- Messages that were affected by Extended Messaging Services in 3.0
(e.g., scrambled messages) may be unreadable in pre-3.0 versions.
